Form-7 controversy in Karnataka, FIR filed

An FIR has been registered in Bengaluru's Malleswaram area of Karnataka over alleged fake Form-7 applications. Congress leader and 2023 Assembly election candidate Anoop Iyengar filed a complaint claiming 136 voters were targeted for deletion through fraudulent applications. A court in Ballari has authorised a search warrant for the office of BJP booth level agent T Srinivas Mothkur, who had sought reverification of 7,561 voters. The Chief Electoral Officer clarified that no voter has been removed based on Form-7 objections so far during the ongoing electoral roll revision.
