Trump announces deal to buy Russian diesel from Putin
US President Donald Trump has announced an agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin to supply diesel to American and global markets to lower fuel prices. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted angrily to the deal, calling it "absolutely terrible" and "not fair and not honest". The US Department of Treasury lifted sanctions on the sale of Russian diesel. American senators criticized the move as embarrassing, saying it could benefit Russia amid the ongoing Ukraine war. The agreement reverses years of Western pressure on the Russian economy.
