Chief Justice declines meeting with Opposition leaders

Chief Justice of India Surya Kant declined a scheduled meeting with Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi on October 12. The CJI cited judicial propriety as reasons for the refusal. The Opposition had sought the meeting amid its ongoing campaign against the electoral roll survey and allegations of irregularities in electoral rolls.
